How to Plan Indian and Pakistani Wedding Ceremonies and Celebrations at Dallas Palms

Indian and Pakistani Wedding Ceremonies

Planning an Indian or Pakistani wedding in the Dallas area takes more than just finding a large venue. These celebrations carry layers of tradition, from the Mehndi and Sangeet nights to the Baraat, Nikah, or Hindu ceremony, followed by a full reception. At Dallas Palms in Carrollton, TX, we’ve hosted South Asian weddings across all of these moments, and we’ve built our spaces and services to support exactly this kind of multi-event celebration.

Why Dallas Palms Works for South Asian Wedding Celebrations

Indian and Pakistani wedding ceremonies and celebrations are rarely a single event. Most families need a venue that can host pre-wedding functions like the Mehndi and Sangeet, as well as the main ceremony and reception, ideally within the same property. That’s exactly what our three ballrooms and garden spaces allow. You can use the Malibu Ballroom for an intimate Mehndi gathering with up to 120 guests, shift the Sangeet to the Melrose Ballroom for up to 170 guests, and book the Bel Air Ballroom for your main wedding day with up to 500 guests. Each space has its own character, from the twin staircases in the Malibu to the central staircase in the Melrose and the mezzanine levels in the Bel Air.

Choosing the Right Space for Each Function

The Bel Air Ballroom is our largest, and it’s the one most South Asian couples choose for the main reception. With indoor seated capacity for up to 500 guests and the Bel Air Garden adding space for 250 to 300 more, it handles large joint family events comfortably. The garden itself has an upper ceremony level with an arbor and water feature, plus a lower level with turf, a waterfall, and a lounge with a fire pit. For Desi family gatherings and social events that call for an outdoor feel with a covered indoor fallback, this pairing is hard to beat.

Wedding Ceremonies and Celebrations

The Melrose Ballroom, with its covered patio opening into its own 5,000 sq ft garden with two pergolas and string lights, makes a strong setting for a Sangeet. The lighting and the garden setup give it the festive atmosphere these evenings call for. The Malibu Ballroom’s 4,000 sq ft garden with a ceremony arch, water feature, and string light canopy also works beautifully for smaller Mehndi functions where you want the garden to feel intimate rather than grand.

Catering That Fits Your Menu

This is where Dallas Palms makes things genuinely easier. Our open vendor policy means you can bring in your own caterer for the traditional dishes your family wants. If you bring your own food, we provide cutlery and waitstaff for a charge, so you’re not coordinating that separately. For any functions where you’d prefer to use our in-house kitchen, we offer menus that include vegetarian, vegan, and dietary-specific options, which matters a great deal at South Asian weddings where vegetarian guests are common. Our Gold, Platinum, and Diamond menus include a variety of appetizers, salads, and entrée options, and our late-night food stations and brunch options are available for those long celebration evenings.

Bar Setup and Décor

Alcohol policies vary widely across Indian and Pakistani wedding ceremonies and celebrations. At Dallas Palms, clients are welcome to furnish their own alcohol, and we provide bartenders and security. That flexibility is something families appreciate, whether the function calls for a full bar or none at all.

For décor, our in-house inventory covers centerpieces, linens, sweetheart tables, backdrop options, and custom setups built around your mood board and color palette. Whether you’re planning a golden and jewel-toned Sangeet or a white and blush Nikah ceremony, our team works directly with you during a décor consultation included with your booking.

Getting Started

Each ballroom booking includes four hours of facility rental, 60-inch round tables, Chiavari chairs, linens in black, ivory, or white, a room attendant, bridal and groom suites with two hours of access before the event, and a one-hour rehearsal. That rehearsal access matters especially for ceremonies with choreographed elements, which Sangeet evenings almost always include.
