Planning a wedding reception in the Dallas area comes with a lot of decisions, and one of the biggest is food. If you already have a caterer you love, whether that’s a family chef, a cultural cuisine specialist, or a local DFW favorite, you want a venue that works with you instead of against you. At Dallas Palms, we make that possible.
What Outside Catering Really Looks Like at a Wedding Venue
A lot of couples assume that bringing in outside food means navigating a pile of restrictions and extra fees. That does not have to be the case. Dallas Palms has an open vendor policy, which means you can bring your own caterer to the event. Whether you are planning Indian and Pakistani wedding ceremonies, Nigerian events and community functions, Hispanic weddings and cultural festivals, or a classic American reception, that freedom lets you serve the food that actually means something to your family.
We also allow clients to furnish their own alcohol. Dallas Palms provides a licensed bartender and security, so your guests are taken care of from the moment they arrive. You bring the bottles, we handle the bar service. It is a setup that keeps costs predictable while keeping the experience polished.
What the Venue Still Provides
Bringing outside catering does not mean you are on your own. Each ballroom package at Dallas Palms includes 60″ round tables, Chiavari chairs, linens in black, ivory, or white, matching napkins, and buffet tables to display your caterer’s spread. A room attendant is on site throughout the event, and full setup, cleaning during the event, and teardown are all part of the booking.
If your outside caterer needs cutlery and waitstaff to serve guests, Dallas Palms can provide that for an additional charge. It is worth asking about during your consultation so your caterer knows exactly what to expect on arrival.
Choosing the Right Space for Your Guest Count
Dallas Palms has three ballrooms, and each one suits a different size of celebration. The Malibu Ballroom seats up to 120 guests and features two staircases and a central chandelier, which makes for a beautiful room whether you are hosting Desi family gatherings, American multicultural events, or an intimate reception for close family. The Melrose Ballroom holds up to 170 guests, with a central staircase and access to a covered patio and garden. The Bel Air Ballroom is our largest, with a capacity of up to 500 guests, mezzanines on both sides, and a connected garden space that holds an additional 250 to 300.

Each garden can also be added to its corresponding ballroom, which gives your outside caterer a larger service area and your guests room to move between a cocktail hour outside and dinner inside.
The Rehearsal and Bridal Suite Details
Every ballroom package includes a one-hour rehearsal the day before or two days before the event, plus two hours of access to the bridal and groom suites before your reception begins. That means your wedding party can get ready on site without rushing, and your caterer can have time to set up the buffet tables while you are still getting ready.
Planning Your Day Around a Carrollton Reception
Dallas Palms is located at 2424 Marsh Lane, Carrollton, TX 75006, which puts it in an easy driving distance for guests coming from Dallas, Frisco, and Plano. On-site parking fits approximately 300 vehicles, with valet available upon request, so catering trucks and guest arrivals can flow without a bottleneck.
If out-of-town guests are traveling for the wedding, Dallas Palms has hotel partners nearby, including the Courtyard Marriott Addison and the Hilton Garden Inn Addison, both roughly three miles away. Discounted room blocks and shuttle service on request are available through those partnerships.
