Start with the Space, Then Build Around It
The room shapes everything else. Our three ballrooms each have a different feel, and the right choice depends on your guest count and the energy you want.
The Malibu Ballroom seats up to 120 guests and has twin staircases with a central chandelier overhead, which makes it a natural fit for milestone birthdays where the details matter. The Melrose Ballroom, with its central staircase and covered patio access, seats up to 170 and opens up nicely for cocktail-style flow. If you’re celebrating with a larger group, the Bel Air Ballroom accommodates up to 500 guests seated, with mezzanines on both sides that give the room real presence.
Each ballroom comes with colored uplighting included in the room rental, so the lighting situation is already handled. That’s one less vendor call.
Food That Fits the Celebration
Birthday party catering at Dallas Palms isn’t a fixed menu you have to accept. Our in-house kitchen serves a buffet by default, with plated options available, and the menu choices span cuisines. On the Gold tier, you’re choosing from two appetizers like veggie samosas, mini tacos, or glazed chicken pineapple skewers, then selecting a salad, an entree, and two sides. The Platinum and Diamond tiers expand those options considerably, adding dishes like citrus-glazed salmon, slow-smoked brisket with bourbon sauce, and a wider range of sides from sauteed asparagus to honey cinnamon roasted sweet potatoes.
We also offer themed buffet options, including Tex-Mex Traditional, Taste of Italy, Pacific Rim, Mediterranean, and a Late Night Appetite menu with chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and a biscuits and gravy station. If the guest of honor has a favorite cuisine or the party runs late, we have options for that. Dietary needs are accommodated across menus, including vegetarian and vegan selections.
Complimentary cake cutting and a fruit table are included in the packages, which means those small details are already covered on your day.
Music and the Atmosphere It Creates
For birthday events, the Gold package includes DJ services. If you’re building toward a full production night with a photographer and videographer capturing it all, the Platinum package adds both. The AV setup in our ballrooms includes a screen and projector, microphones, a sound system, and live streaming capability, so if family members can’t be there in person, they don’t have to miss it entirely.
The combination of uplighting already in the room, a sound system in place, and DJ services through our packages means the energy of the room is something you can plan for, not something you hope for.
Decor That Reflects the Person You’re Celebrating
Our in-house decor team starts with a consultation to understand your vision. We have an extensive inventory of decor pieces, from centerpieces and candelabras to linens and custom table arrangements. If you have a color palette or mood board, we work from that. Table centerpieces, buffet table setups, cake table decor, and the main table design all fall within what we handle in-house.
For birthday parties, the Bel Air Garden is a popular add-on to ballroom bookings. It’s roughly 10,000 square feet with a waterfall, a string light setup, and a lounge and fire pit area, which works well for cocktail hour or photos before moving into the main event.

Can I bring my own caterer for a birthday party at Dallas Palms?
Yes. Dallas Palms has an open vendor policy and allows outside catering. If you bring your own food, the venue provides cutlery and waitstaff for a charge.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
Yes. Clients may furnish their own alcohol. Dallas Palms provides a bartender and security when this option is chosen.
Is music included in birthday packages?
DJ services are included in the Gold package tier. The venue’s AV setup, including sound system, microphones, and a screen and projector, is available across all ballrooms.
Is cleaning handled by the venue?
Yes. Set up, cleaning during the event, and breakdown afterward are all included in packages.
