Choosing the right event venue in Carrollton takes more than a quick Google search. You’re weighing real details, room sizes, parking, what’s included in the food and decor, and whether the space can actually hold your guest count comfortably. At Dallas Palms, we’ve walked through these conversations with couples planning weddings, families organizing quinceañeras, and businesses booking corporate events. Here’s how we think about it, and what you should ask any venue before you book.
What Actually Matters When You Compare Venues in Carrollton
Most couples and planners start with the visual, but the details that determine whether your event runs smoothly are practical ones. Venue comparisons come down to four things: how many guests fit, whether parking is a real experience or a headache, how catering works, and who handles decor.
Guest Count and Space
Start with your headcount, because not every space at a venue fits every size group. At Dallas Palms, we have three distinct ballrooms. The Malibu Ballroom holds up to 120 guests seated, with two staircases and a central chandelier. The Melrose Ballroom accommodates up to 170 guests, with a central staircase that opens to a covered patio and garden. The Bel Air Ballroom is our largest, holding 250 to 500 guests seated indoors, with mezzanines on both sides.
What often surprises people is that each ballroom can also connect to its own garden. The Bel Air Garden spans roughly 10,000 square feet and holds 250 to 300 people for a ceremony. The Melrose Garden covers around 5,000 square feet, and the Malibu Garden is about 4,000 square feet. If your guest list sits between 100 and 500, there’s likely a combination here that works.
Parking
Parking is one of those details that sounds minor until your guests are circling a lot for 20 minutes. Dallas Palms has approximately 300 free parking spots on site, with valet available upon request. For large events like Nigerian events, ceremonies, and community functions, Desi family gatherings and social events, or American multicultural events and corporate gatherings, easy parking matters a lot for guests who may be arriving from across the DFW area.
Catering and Bar Policy
This is where venues differ significantly. Some require you to use their kitchen exclusively. Others allow outside catering but charge corkage and cutting fees that add up fast. At Dallas Palms, the policy is open. You can bring your own caterer or use our in-house kitchen, which prepares menus across a wide range of cuisines, including options for vegetarian and vegan guests. If you bring your own food, we provide cutlery and waitstaff for a service charge.

For bar service, clients can furnish their own alcohol, and Dallas Palms provides a bartender and security. There are no food and beverage minimums, which gives you real flexibility in building a package that fits your budget.
For Indian and Pakistani wedding ceremonies and celebrations, Hispanic weddings, parties, and cultural festivals, and Nepali weddings and cultural events, having control over your menu means you can serve the food your family actually wants, not a set banquet menu.
Decor
Some venues hand you a blank room and a vendor referral list. Others do the decor in-house, which is what we do at Dallas Palms. Our team handles centerpieces, linens, sweetheart tables, cake tables, florals, custom color matching, and full setup and teardown. You can work from our in-house inventory or bring a mood board, and we’ll source it. This matters especially for events where decor is central to the cultural experience, like a Mehndi ceremony, a quinceañera, or a mitzvah.
Every ballroom rental includes uplighting and ambience lighting. AV equipment, including a screen, projector, microphones, sound system, and live streaming, is also available.
Planning and Support
Each ballroom booking includes a consultation on decor and room layout, a one-hour rehearsal, two-hour bridal and groom suite access before the event, a room attendant, and full setup and teardown. Day-of coordination is part of our full-service packages. Payment plans are available interest-free, which helps with longer planning timelines.
